A private 200-acre estate

One wedding at a time, on a private 200-acre estate

A family-run wedding venue in the County Durham countryside near Stockton-on-Tees, yours for up to three days.

  • 200 private acres
  • Exclusive use

Welcome

A family venue where the day belongs to you

The Hidden Oak began two generations ago as a working farm, with a century-old oak at its heart. It is the tree we are named for, and it still stands today. Our family runs it now, and over the years we have planted 45,000 trees across the estate, so the woodland we look out on is now home to its very own herd of deer.

When you book with us it is one wedding at a time, never two. The same small team looks after you the whole way, because here you are never just another booking.

Two hundred acres

A different view at every turn

Couples tell us they never run out of places to photograph. Woodland one moment, the Secret Garden the next, the courtyard as the sun comes round, and the lakes as they reflect golden hour.

The Barn

A 17th-century milking parlour, reimagined

A vaulted ceiling and bi-fold doors that run the length of the space keep the character while feeling yours completely. It seats 110 for your ceremony and wedding breakfast, and welcomes 150 in the evening.

The Grounds

Room to breathe, and then some

Beyond the Barn, the estate opens into woodland, landscaped gardens and the lakes. There is space for everyone to spread out, for children to run, and for the kind of photographs you only get when the whole place is yours.
